As a Grammy nominated music professional with over 15 years experience, Ross has recorded, produced and mixed some of the industry’s top artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Shania Twain, Train, John Mayer, Phil Phillips, Five For Fighting, Gavin Degraw and the Goo Goo Dolls. In addition to his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Berklee College of Music, his credits include top Billboard chart accomplishments, TEC award nominations and memberships with AES, the recording academy (NARAS), and the Music Business Association.
Soon after graduating from Berklee, Ross got his start in the music industry working on Bruce Springsteen's Tracks boxset as a second engineer. Then he was on to a staff position at Avatar Studios (formerly the Power Station) in New York City. There, he was surrounded by music industry titans where he picked up all that he could and honed his skills while working along side a who's who of the music industry including Nile Rodgers, Arif Mardin and Eddie Kramer to name just a few.
The experience and overview he absorbed at Avatar allowed him to branch out as an independent engineer, producer and mixer. Here he added Stevie Wonder, Keith Richards, and Sheryl Crow to his client list, including recording credits on John Mayer’s Grammy award winning “Daughters” and Five for Fighting’s “100 Years”.
In 2008 Ross joined Windup Records where he recorded and produced for Cartel, Civil Twilight, Finger Eleven, Creed and many more. While at the label he also recorded and co-produced Seether’s “Careless Whisper”, reaching top five on Mainstream, Modern Rock and Combined rock charts including the Billboard Hot 100.
More recently, Ross has been an integral part of Thrill Hill Productions as the lead engineer on the three latest Bruce Springsteen releases: Wrecking Ball, High Hopes and American Beauty. Both Wrecking Ball and High Hopes debuted at number one on Billboard’s 200 chart and Wrecking Ball received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album in 2013.
In addition, Ross founded Fermata Music Group, and has been a creative liaison for major media and tech companies such as Google and Apple’s iTunes. He has composed original music and integrated concepts for national TV, radio, and web series for global brands such as Microsoft, Toyota and Comcast and is a current contributor to YouTube’s music library.
From alto sax in grade school to most recently singing with The Boss in the studio, Ross is always perfecting the creative and technical balance that is imperative in music production today. His life-long passion for music draws him towards opportunities that help create music with enduring significance and to help define music’s role in entertainment and media.
In both the studio and the writing room, Ross is known for his impeccable ability to make even the biggest star comfortable and has a certain knack for eliciting creativity and contributing to composing. Ross is sought out for his technical expertise, enthusiasm, positive attitude, affability and ingenuity. His discography speaks for its self.
